University of Birmingham

Founded in 1900, the University of Birmingham is a world-class redbrick university located on a scenic 250-acre campus in the UK’s second-largest city. A founding member of the Russell Group and Universitas 21, it combines a legacy of innovation with a global outlook, consistently ranking among the world’s top 100 universities (QS World University Rankings 2025).

Birmingham is home to over 34,000 students, including around 10,000 international students from nearly 150 countries. Known for producing highly employable graduates, the university was ranked the UK’s most targeted by top employers (High Fliers, 2020–21). It also offers career support through a £5 million investment in graduate services, along with mentoring, internships, and tailored career workshops for international students.

Courses at Birmingham frequently include placements with leading global companies. Its vibrant, multicultural campus is situated just over 150km from London, with excellent transport links via Birmingham International Airport. Beyond the UK, the university expanded its reach with the launch of its Dubai campus in 2018—making it the first Russell Group university to establish a presence there.

Set within a safe, welcoming environment, the university offers a full student experience with modern facilities, sports complexes, cafes, shops, and more—all against the backdrop of one of the UK’s most diverse and dynamic cities.
