University of Warwick – Chancellor’s International Scholarship

The Chancellor’s International Scholarship is one of the most prestigious PhD funding schemes at the University of Warwick. It is open to outstanding international applicants from any country, including India and Pakistan, and is awarded based on academic merit and research promise.

For entry in the Autumn 2025 cohort, up to 42 scholarships will be awarded, with a total University budget of approximately £5 million.

Scholarship Benefits

  • Full tuition fee coverage for ‘overseas’ fee status students
  • Maintenance stipend at the prevailing UKRI rate (typically ~£18,700 per year) for up to 3.5 years
  • A one‑off Research, Training and Supporting Grant (RTSG) of £5,000

Eligible scholars receive funding for the full duration of their PhD research programme, aligned with UKRI guidelines.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must:

  • Apply for a PhD programme at Warwick beginning in October 2025, or
  • Be currently enrolled in the first year of a PhD (or MPhil/PhD) at Warwick, provided they commenced within 12 months before October 2025
  • Be classified as an international fee-status student—there are no nationality restrictions, so students from India and Pakistan fully qualify

There is no nationality criterion—the scholarship is open to all non-UK and non-EU fee-paying applicants

  • Course application deadline: 9 December 2024, 23:59 GMT
  • Scholarship application deadline: 12 December 2024, 23:59 GMT
  • Supporting documents submission: by 7 January 2025, 23:59 GMT
  • Award decisions communicated: by early March 2025
  • Programme start: October 2025

Applicants must submit their course application first, receive an offer, then register and complete the separate scholarship application via Warwick’s PhD scholarship portal.
